An EYFS Masterpiece

The youngest children in our school had their turn in the limelight with this year's EYFS Musical Celebration "Masterpiece."  All classes from F1 through to F3 took to the stage to perform one of their favourite songs to a big audience of smiling Mums, Dads, nannies and friends.  The music that we chose this year was inspired by famous works of art, and each of the EYFS classes also produced their very own piece of art which was on display in the gym throughout the performance.  The children of EYFS did a magnificent job with their performances and brought huge smiles to the faces of their teachers and parents.  An excellent end to a fabulous year of music-making and art in EYFS.

'Masterpiece' EYFS Music Concert

Children in F2X performing 'What's your favourite colour?' song for our Masterpiece music concert.

Ice cream shop we went!

Children in F2 have been enjoying our role play area which is set up as an ice cream shop for a while now and so we have decided to take the whole group for a treat! We thought this trip would not only extend their interest in the topic but also serve as an end of year treat for all the children and teachers as well.

A wide selection of flavours!

Children got to choose which flavour they like.

Well-behaved children enjoying their ice creams.

Children happily colouring the sheets whilst waiting for their turn to choose.

Majority of the children chose chocolate ice cream.

It was indeed a fun time and a great end to a fantastic year in F2!

Baby's Day Out

We have had a great time with our little visitor last Friday. Children in class were very nice and careful playing with Gianna in the classroom. They were laughing every time Gianna tried to 'speak'. They also made sure there was a chair for her to sit on during lunchtime and a comfy bed to sleep.

Children waiting to share what they have learnt about babies when Gianna visited us last Friday.

They also talked about sizes. Ingrid said "I am bigger than Gianna."

They even sang a song for her!

ARC Animal Visit

After several ARC (Animal Rescue and Care) visits talking about how we should care for our pets,  children have had a chance to see a pet dog and 2 cats last Thursday. The visit was to culminate the sessions we have had with wonderful people from ARC.

Children met Dr Nghia who gave them a chance to be a 'Vet' for a day. All the children loved seeing the pets in school and some even got to stroke the dog Suki.

F1 and F2 Sports Day

Everybody would agree with me that we have had a very successful Sports day yesterday in AP1. All the children, parents and teachers who were there enjoyed the activities plan for that day despite the heat.

Thank you to all the parents who came in, stayed and participated in the 2 events.

Looking forward to another sporting event next year.

Well done Yunseo!

Ingrid's very determined to jump over the hurdles!

Go Bond! You're almost there!

F1 and F2 have very competitive parents. :)

Teachers were outnumbered by the parents on this one. Congratulations to all the Parents!

Jingle Jangle Jungle

We learned a song today about animals that live in the jungle.  The words are really simple and the children joined in with singing it very quickly.  We really enjoyed using different voices to sing the song too.  We used high voices, low voices, loud voices, and quiet voices.  Have a listen to our recording on sound cloud  and let us know what you think.  Can you hear the different voices being used?  Did we remember to use the different rhythms when we are making the animal sounds?  Can you tell which instruments are being played?  You might also be interested to hear the recordings from Ms Chloe's class.

Hubble, bubble toil and trouble (a witchy morning)

Children have been so engaged mixing potion to make a 'poisoned' apple. They helped the 'witch' create that magical and powerful potion with 'frogs, green snakes, eyes, bees and a blob of jelli-baff! And altogether we chanted...

Stir 1, stir 2 what is in my witch's brew!

What a fun activity!

Parachute Fun in F2X

We listened carefully to this very regal sounding music and used it to create our very own parachute dance.  We had to work together as a team and make sure that we all moved together to keep the parachute flat.  It was quite tricky to begin with, but with a bit of practice we were all soon joining in well and moving the parachute together.  There are three parts to our dance: first we moved the parachute slowly up and down; then we walked round in a circle whilst holding on tight; lastly we wibbled and wobbled the parachute to make it look like a big bowl of jelly.  Click here to view a video of our dancing on youtube.
